Server Setup & Secure
Daunted by setting up your own web server and don’t know where to start?
STS can help you find your way in the server world by getting your server setup and optimised for you and to your specification. If you wish, you can choose to have a control panel installed (please provide own licenses for Cpanel etc). This service is not totally limited to web server setups, but please do note this only covers one server, for more complex needs please contact us for a quote.
You choose your favoured server host, select your preferred operating system and then send in the “heavies”.
Upon ordering this service, you will need to provide us with root details to your server. It is recommended to transmit this email in a secure form and ideally seperately. We will also need to capture your server requirements, so it’s often better to contact us before ordering so that we can understand your needs and we can get a server setup for you quicker.
Normally your server will be setup within a few hours of ordering if ordered between 9AM and 6PM GMT. However, in all cases we will contact you to make suitable arrangments and make sure you are happy with the plan.
We specialise in standard setups such as:
- Cpanel (CentOS)
- Virtualmin/Webmin (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS etc)
- ISPManager Pro (Debian, CentOS)
- Single site NGINX + PHP-FPM + MySQL (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu) – No control panel
- Other LAMP variants & control panels (DirectAdmin, Lighttpd etc)
All servers will have a firewall configured with basic settings setup to allow you to work straight out of the box with some reasonable security. This does not substitute good monitoring and vigilance in keeping the server up to date and secure. Why not take a look at our Managed Server options?
